Frank Rosenthal
Few if any people know more about the world of gambling than Frank Rosenthal. He was the man who helped make Las Vegas what it is today by taking everything to a new level. Robert De Niro insisted that his entire wardrobe come from the same manufacturers that Frank dealt with to maintain the utmost in realism of how it was.
Rosenthal ran four Las Vegas casinos simultaneously for his Chicago friends. He is one is one of the few men ever to survive a car bombing. His life became the subject of Scorsese epic Casino. And if you are interested how real Ginger (portrayed by Sharon Stone) looked, visit Rosenthal's site.
Kujucev
Late '90s in Belgrade. Photos of Kujecev, music of Sunshine, film Do koske and web design by Ivo i Istok (ignore warning). Ten years after, serbian pop culture is not even close to golden 90's.
Bo Stefan Eriksson
Eriksson was released from U.S. prison on January 21, 2008.
In the most incredible exotic-car crash in history bits and pieces of red Ferrari Enzo were left in a trail four American football fields long, but, miraculously, Eriksson suffered only a split lip. What kind of person drives nearly 200 mph on a California coastal highway?
Bo Stefan Eriksson had managed to import $3.8 million in cars (black and red Ferrari Enzo, Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren for wife) he didn't own into post-9/11 America. He lived in $3.6 million Bel-Air home. Until it became insolvent in 2005, he was an executive at UK gaming company Gizmondo, making about $2.2 million a year. As a leader of Swedish Uppsalamaffian, in 1994 Eriksson was sentenced to nearly ten years in prison. He was released after a little more than six. In the late 80's, known as a playboy, Eriksson drove a Corvette and wore expensive jewelry, with the license plate reading "GEO" in Swedish pronounced similar to the Cuban slang llello (yeyo) for cocaine, used by Al Pacino in the film Scarface.
Seth Warshavsky
Poster child of Internet porno industry. The man who created the Pamela And Tommy Lee sex tape phenomenon. Another time he sent out a press release saying that two virgins were going to lose virginity live on the Internet, one morning before he had coffee, and by dinner every media outlet in the world was buzzing with the "news."
With debt estimated at $500,000 and enough money to live ten comfortable lifetimes in the US, and fifty in Thailand, Warshavksy fled the country in January 2001. Porn fugitive have an apartment in Hong Kong with one of mistresses there, and some places in North Thailand. A country estate and some condos in Bangkok. Thailand government is happy to have him helping their economy. You can easily reach him via Skype, Facebook or LinkedIn.

Eric B. on Economy
"When we were touring, we were good for the economy. I didn’t have a good idea of economics at the time. We were responsible for making the Rolls Royce popular; we were responsible for making Mercedes Benz popular. When I bought a Rolls Royce, they told me that’s an old white man’s car. My first car that I ever owned in my life was a Rolls Royce. I didn’t have a hooptie; I didn’t have a van or nothing. When I had the Mercedes, back then only dentists drove Mercedes. So we made all these things popular. Let’s go back to the jewelry; we made gold and diamonds popular. On the back of the album cover we all had velour Fila suits. I had a conversation with Puff one time and he was like “Eric, the reason why I made velour Sean John suits is because I remember when ya’ll used to come with the Fila suits.” We got those suits from a tennis store. We had a certain sense of style that is still popular right now; the jean jackets, the jean suits. We made all of that Fendi, Louis Voitton, Gucci cool. Black people didn’t do all of that, that wasn’t cool for us to do."

Nick Popovich
Popovich's law: The man who tells you he's going to shoot you will not shoot you.
Nick Popovich is a repo man. His mandate is simple. Someone misses a few payments. The bank wants to recover its plane. There will be an attempt to set up some kind of debt payment plan. Failing that, collateral has to be ponied up. If there is none, then an account executive reaches out to Popovich. But Jumbo Jets are expensive -- a 747 will run you anywhere from $125 million to $260 million -- and people who try to acquire such toys are loath to give them back.
He was casing an exotic car company in Chicago when a leonine blond walked in to the dealership. "We all looked at each other and said, 'A hundred bucks for the first guy that nails her,'" he says. "Twenty million dollars in business together later, here we are." (They have subsequently divorced.)
Sir Richard's Island
MTV Cribs video and photo gallery
In 1978, together with Joan Templeman, who would ultimately become his wife, Branson had accepted a gratis trip down to the Caribbean under the pretense of being interested in buying an island. With inexpensive romance on his mind have heard that if you wanted to buy an island you would be feted like royalty.
Successful on paper but broke, Branson found himself captivated by the allure of owning his own island and, standing there in the Caribbean sun, he took an impulsive shot. The asking price for Necker Island was £3 million; Branson offered £150,000 — a sum that he would have had trouble coming up with as it was —a nd after sheepishly upping the offer to £200,000 to the broker's continued disgust, his luggage were packed and he was evicted from the villa.
A few months later, having contacted the British lord who actually owned Necker, Branson learned that the owner was in financial straits and needed to sell; a little haggling later, including a commitment to putting infrastructure on the island within a specific period of time, and Branson had struck a deal with the owner, closing the deal for £180,000.
As is often the case with a Branson story, there's a second punch line to this joke. It seems that when the real estate broker summarily dismissed Branson from Necker Island following his lowball offer, Branson was also left to find his own flight home. Thoroughly disgusted with trying to get a commercial flight, and observing many others feeling the same way at the island airport in Tortola, Branson had an idea. An idea, you might say, with wings.

She's my favourite one. More on Gawker.
Bolivia
"Tonight we have two types of cocaine; normal for 100 Bolivianos (around €15 or $22) a gram, and strong cocaine for 150 a gram." The waiter has just finished taking our drink order of two rum-and-Cokes here in La Paz, Bolivia inside Route 36, the world's first cocaine bar.

Tina Leiu
"What a headache, but I went to the club..."
Back in the days, it was our clubbing anathem. But, who's that girl?
Tina Leiu Wiseman was a Samoan Princess; She was featured in dozens of commercials and print ads and numerous independent films in Miami and Europe. Together with her boyfriend and Internet icon Jon NEVERDIE Jacobs spent three years making the Film Hey DJ! (full movie available free at IMDB). One of the tracks, she had recorded for HEY DJ soundtrack -- “To the Club” was released under the name Spankox, in Europe in 2004 and became one of the biggest dance hits of the year! (tnx to Fatboy Slim)
She knew it was possible she was living on borrowed time. She lived her last year to the fullest in an effort to create an enduring legacy and she had just arrived in Freeport, Bahamas to relax, enjoy her son and audition for a role in Pirates of the Caribbean 2, when without any warning she was swiftly passed away from a pulmonary edema.
A great believer in the future of Virtual Reality, Tina Lieu encouraged many of her friends and relatives to play Project Entropia, including her boyfriend, parents and son. Also known in-game as Island Girl, Tina was the quintessential Gamer Chick, rolling out of bed and logging into Project Entropia as the first thing she did in the morning. Besides logging into Project Entropia between her daily chores, she also spent more money on her virtual clothes than on herself in real life.
There is now a memorial shrine on a special Island inside the game, commemorating Island Girl, which was made by developers.
